Why you need this year’s “other Gold Proof Sovereign”
The 2016 UK Gold Proof Sovereign (with the special 90th birthday portrait) sold out completely by April.
It’s the first to sell out that quickly in years.
The reason is obvious - Her Majesty’s 90th birthday. It is such a huge collecting event that any coins related to it are selling very quickly.
Now there is another gold proof Sovereign released in this special year...
Introducing the Sovereign hardly anyone in the UK knows about
In Victorian times, Sovereigns were struck in various branch mints around the world, including Australia, Canada and India.
The Perth Mint in Australia produces a gold proof Sovereign every year, but there’s one problem…
They’re almost impossible to get hold of in the UK.
Indeed, last year’s completely sold out. As did the year before and the year before that.
There’s a reason this coin sells out so quickly each year – the edition limit.
5 times rarer than the UK Gold Proof Sovereign
The Australian Gold Sovereign is struck to the exact same specification as the UK Gold Sovereign, comprising of 7.98g of 22 Carat Gold. All that differs is the design and, most importantly, the edition limit.
So few people in the UK know about the “other Gold Sovereign” because it only has an edition limit of 1,500. That’s in comparison to 7,500 UK Sovereigns - making it 5 times rarer.
The Australians like to keep this one to themselves meaning that we – on the other side of the world – miss out.
But you can secure yours today...
Coin Portfolio Management has managed to source a small number this year. Nowhere near as many as we’d like though, so they are only available on a strict first-come, first-served basis.
A quick sell-out is expected.
This is an official Sovereign from The Perth Mint in Australia and these coins have sold out completely for years.
Don't delay if you'd like one for your Portfolio.
